The Vein Treatment Center is a National Center of Excellence for Vein Disorders. Hratch Karamanoukian, MD FACS RVT RPVI RPhS and Raffy Karamanoukian, MD FACS are vein specialists certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine (ABVLM). Dr. Hratch Karamanoukian also holds Board Certification in Surgery (ABS, American Board of Surgery) and Cardiovascular Surgery (ABTS, American Board of Thoracic Surgery). Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian has added Board Certification in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Hratch Karamanoukian and Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian are Fellows of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Karamanoukian is the only vein specialist in Buffalo Niagara with triple certification in vascular ultrasound: RVT, RPVI and RPhS.

Located in Williamsville, just outside Buffalo, NY, the Vein Treatment Center specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of vein disorders such as varicose veins, spider veins, venous ulcers, venous reflux disease and cosmetic vein disorders. We have an additional office in Orchard Park, NY. Our new facility in Orchard Park, NY is convenient for patients in the SouthTowns - including West Seneca, Cheektowaga, Orchard Park, Attica, Warsaw, Batavia, Rochester, Syracuse and Southern Ontario, just across the Peace Bridge.

Using specialized diagnostic tools, Dr. Karamanoukian and staff expertly implement cutting-edge treatment options such as the VenaCure EVLT Never Touch procedure for the treatment of saphenous venous insufficiency and perforator venous reflux disease. We also utilize the Venefit Procedure (previously called VNUS Closure), ultracision microphlebectomy, Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy, foam sclerotherapy and topical laser treatments to rid patients of symptoms such as bulging leg veins, restless legs, leg pain, discomfort, leg swelling, itching or leg discoloration associated with venous insufficiency. Cosmetic vein laser is also available for lesions on the face, neck, chest and other parts of the body.

Please understand your initial visit may last between 1 to 1.5 hours. Making an informed decision regarding minimally invasive procedures and surgery requires time and attention. Consultation times may vary depending upon the type, extent and number of procedures under discussion. Our staff to patient ratio is high so that we can deliver personalized and attentive care to all of our patients. We have 24 employees at the Vein Treatment Center. Dr. Karamanoukian personally conducts the history and examination and goes over the findings of the examination and Doppler studies and provides a treatment plan to suit the needs of every patient.

Not only is Dr. Karamanoukian Board Certified in Surgery and Thoracic Surgery, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is one of the first group of surgeons in the United States who have obtained additional certification in the discipline of venous diseases known as Phlebology (2009). Look for this added designation as credentials when you seek care for your vein problems.

Dr. Karamanoukian is involved in community activities and is a Board Member of Daemen College in Amherst, NY. He is involved in doing clinical and basic science research in venous diseases (see About section).

He has published 41 books which are available on Amazon Kindle and Nook ebooks. He has also published over 140 peer reviewed articles in cardiovascular medicine and surgery.
