Yolgosteren et al (Bursa Uldulag University) have vestigated chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) in patients with sleep disorder.

Chronic venous insufficiency was diagnosed in almost half of the patients having a sleep disorder due to restless legs syndrome (RLS).

This result suggests that CVI may be the underlying cause in a significant number of patients who are thought to have primary RLS. Therefore, the authors recommend that CVI should be investigated in patients with aprimary diagnosis of restless legs syndrome.
