What is the risk for deep vein thrombosis in women taking oral contraceptives ?
Researchers at the Department of Clinical Pathology, La Fe University Hospital, Avda. Campanar 21, 46009 Valencia, Spain, investigated the risk for DVT in women taking oral contraceptives.
The upshot of the study was that "in women receiving oral contraceptives, the risk of DVT was increased 3.5 times baseline that of the patients not receiving oral contraceptives.
