Chemothrerapy drugs that can cause deep vein thrombosis

    Some chemotherapy drugs have been associated with the development of deep vein thrombosis (DVT):

    Aranesp

    Epogen

    Procrit

    Lenalidomide

    Tamoxifenn

    Thalidoide


    Tamoxifen is comonly used as a chemoprevention agent for breast cancer.

    Procrit is used to treat anemia in some types of cancers and also in patients who have anemia related to chroic kidney disease.

    Lenolidomide is used to treat myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).

    Aranesp is used to treat anemia resulting from chronic kidney disease or chemothereapy. 

    Thalidomide is used with dexamethasone to treat multiple myeloma.
